Located on the most historic street in Edinburgh,
and on the site of its oldest inn, is a restaurant
serving the very best of British seafood and
shellfish. The produce is sourced from boutique
suppliers including Welch Fishmongers, Mara
Seaweed and the Ethical Shellfish Company. The
White Horse Oyster Bar specialises in aphrodisiac
crustacean, providing an extensive selection of
decadent oysters - served natural or dressed.
There are fish and steak dishes available too,
as well as tempura. There’s an earthy, gentle
nautical style to the decor, with exposed brick
walls, plush navy seating and solid wooden
tables. The bar serves artisan cocktails, bubbles,
carefully curated wines, Scottish whiskies and can
offer pairing suggestions to bring out the flavour
