Founded in 1990, Howies is a family owned
restaurant collection based in Scotland. There
are four restaurants in the portfolio, each has
its own personality yet all share the same ethos
and passion for cooking with Scottish produce.
‘Scottish, seasonal & seriously tasty’ is how we like
to describe our menus and we’ve been cooking up
a storm using the very best Scottish produce for
thirty years! Located in the city’s historic Old Town,
Howies Victoria Street is carved out of rock that
Edinburgh Castle perches on above. Paired back
stone walls, wooden floors and an eclectic mix of
Scottish art marry marvellously with the historic
surroundings. Open seven days a week, our chefs
celebrate all that is great about Scottish produce.
When it comes to our drinks, much research goes
into the fantastic range of Scottish craft beer as well
as whiskies and gins from all over Scotland.

Stac Polly is located in Edinburgh’s Dublin Street
serving traditional Scottish food with a modern
twist. ground, the restaurant is housed in cellars
with stone walls, candles and linen tablecloths,
creating a romantic atmosphere. The à la carte
menu uses (where possible) seasonal, locally
sourced produce and includes a variety of game,
poultry, Scottish salmon and beef. The whisky list is
eclectic and impressive, making it an ideal location
for enthusiasts or those wishing to sample a variety
of Scotland’s famous spirit. Opened in 1990, Stac
Polly has built up a reputation as one of the leading
purveyors of Scottish produce in Edinburgh. Three
typical courses might travel from smoked salmon
and Arbroath smokie roulade with wasabi and
saffron mayo, via Aberdeen Angus rib-eye with
fondant potato, black pudding, wild mushrooms,
fine beans and whisky jus to lemon cheesecake
with blackcurrant ice cream and red fruit coulis.
