Inside Pickles of Broughton Street lies a cosy
emporium that’s redolent of freshly brewed
coffee and all things nice. There’s nothing like a
warm welcome and a hot drink to ease the day’s
stresses away as you unwind in the chilled deli-
cum-coffee shop. Row after row of bottled beer
and wine adorns the walls of the bijou eatery,
tempting customers to eschew their afternoon
tea for something a little stronger. Pickles’ cheese
platters and light nibbles are particularly popular,
tiding peckish patrons over till dinner time.
Whether it’s post-work drinks with friends or a
light meal before venturing into town, the deli does
a roaring trade all through the day before finally
closing its doors at midnight. An excellent wine list
plus a good selection of craft beers, spirits and
liqueurs will kickstart your evening or revive your

Based in the stunning area of Stockbridge on St.
Stephen Street this fantastic restaurant is the epitome
of rustic, casual fine dining. The cosy basement
dining room has a maximum of 28 covers. Run by
head chef and owner Paul Gunning, Purslane serve
a large variety of freshly prepared dishes, delivering
an intense, high quality of flavour with every mouthful.
With an impressive CV, including experience in the
kitchens of Marco Pierre White, Jeff Bland, Phil
Thompson and Jean Michel Gauffre, Paul’s cuisine
blends classical skills with more contemporary
influences. So regardless of what you decide to eat on
the day, you’re guaranteed to be in good hands! Menus
are seasonal, with 80% of ingredients sourced from
local Stockbridge suppliers. Dishes are harmoniously
composed, accurately timed, balanced in taste and
texture, and cleanly presented. Generosity is reflected
in the large portions, the select wine list which avoids
greedy mark ups.
