For lovers of Latin food, Las Iguanas needs no
introduction. The popular chain serves classic Latin
American dishes, flame-grilled and infused with
spice, from a capacious premises on George Street.
A high ceiling allows plenty of light to permeate the
restaurant, with its industrial exposed venting and
cheery orange light shades. A lunch menu runs till
6:30pm, so even later risers needn’t miss out on
enchiladas, tacos and burgers. The restaurant’s
spicy chicken, marinated in a fiery sauce, comes
highly recommended, though pretty much anything
that’s fresh off the grill is sure to hit the spot. The
full dinner menu includes a selection of Brazilian
dishes such as Bahian coconut chicken and xinxim,
and crayfish in a creamy lime and peanut sauce,
which may give you cause to overlook the fajitas for
once. Selected cocktails and coolers are on offer
every single day, freshly shaken and stirred at the
bar, where coffee and tapas can also be enjoyed.

Blue Parrot Cantina
Blue Parrot Cantina has been a fixture in the
salubrious Stockbridge neighbourhood since its
opening in 1993. Come here to eat traditional
Mexican food and drink tasty classic cocktails in the
charming rustic basement. The eatery is nestled
between the area’s boutiques, bars, restaurant
and stunning New Town flats. Its quirky style,
featuring an open kitchen, brings something unique
to the area, explaining why it has long been loved
by locals and visitors alike. The margaritas are a
must try and said to be some of the best around.

as delicious spiced fish dishes, starters and sides.
Desserts are Mexican and European inspired,
including the eponymous liquor-filled Blue Parrot: a
